GeoStamp: Verified GPS Camera ("the App"), published by Shinrai Apps, is a zero-login camera utility developed to let users capture and stamp photos with online-verified NTP date/time, GPS satellite coordinates, verification status (✓ VERIFIED vs ⚠ UNVERIFIED), compass orientation, and street address metadata. We respect your privacy and design the App so that your photos and personal data remain under your control on your device.
2.Information We Access and How It Is Used
The App requires access to specific device capabilities to perform verified camera stamping. Each capability is accessed strictly as described below:
Camera
android.permission.CAMERAUsed exclusively on-device to preview the camera viewfinder and capture photos when you press the shutter button. Photos are processed locally on your device and saved directly to your device's Photo Gallery (Pictures/GeoStampCamera). We do not upload your photos to any external server.
Location
ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION & ACCESS_COARSE_LOCATIONUsed while the App is in the foreground to read your device's GPS coordinates, altitude, and accuracy so they can be stamped onto your photos. To display a human-readable street address and mini-map thumbnail on your photo stamp, the App sends only the latitude and longitude coordinates over an encrypted HTTPS connection to free, public reverse-geocoding and map tile services (Android's built-in Geocoder, OpenStreetMap Nominatim, BigDataCloud Free Reverse Geocode API, and OpenStreetMap Tile Servers). If hardware GPS is unavailable indoors, the App may query get.geojs.io over HTTPS to estimate approximate city-level coordinates from your public IP address. No user identifiers, device IDs, advertising IDs, names, or photos are ever transmitted with these coordinate lookups.
Online Time Synchronization
TrustedTimeManager (Network/NTP)To prevent timestamp tampering, the App queries public, unauthenticated NTP servers (time.google.com, pool.ntp.org, time.cloudflare.com) or HTTPS time headers (timeapi.io, google.com) to verify the current UTC date and time. No personal or device data is sent during time synchronization. When offline, the App falls back to the device's system clock and labels the stamp accordingly (System Time (Offline)).
Sensors
Accelerometer / Magnetometer / Rotation VectorUsed purely on-device to calculate live compass heading (° N/E/S/W) and the viewfinder horizon spirit level.
Storage / Media Library
WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE on Android 9 and belowUsed solely to save your stamped JPEG photos into your device's public Pictures/GeoStampCamera folder and to let you import an existing photo from your Gallery when you explicitly select one via the system photo picker.
3.Data Storage and Retention
All captured photos, custom stamp settings, and recent reverse-geocoded street address caches are stored locally on your device. You can delete your photos at any time from your device's Gallery app, and you can clear all cached settings/addresses by clearing app storage or uninstalling the App.
4.Data Sharing and Third Parties
We protect your data against third-party exploitation through strict architectural boundaries:
- We do not require accounts or logins.
- We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with advertisers or data brokers.
- We do not include third-party advertising SDKs or analytics trackers.
- Photos are only shared if you explicitly tap the "Share Photo" button to send an image through another app of your choice.
5.Children's Privacy & Google Play Families Policy
GeoStamp: Verified GPS Camera is a general-audience photography, fieldwork, and documentation utility designed exclusively for users aged 13 and above (and 16 and above in the European Economic Area / UK). The App is not directed toward, marketed to, or designed for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal or sensitive information from children. In strict alignment with the Google Play Families Policy: • Target Audience Declaration: In the Google Play Console Target Audience questionnaire, the App is declared strictly for general audiences (13+ / Adults) and does not target children or include child-appealing themes, cartoon mascots, or gamification. • Location Permission Restrictions: Google Play Families Policy strictly prohibits child-directed apps from requesting or collecting precise location. Because GeoStamp relies on hardware GPS (ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION & ACCESS_COARSE_LOCATION) to stamp coordinates onto photos, the App is strictly restricted to general adult and professional audiences. • Console Families Question (PSL_DATA_COLLECTION_COMPLIES_FAMILY_POLICY): In the Google Play Data Safety questionnaire, the optional question regarding displaying a commitment badge for the Play Families policy is answered 'false' because the App does not target children or participate in the Designed for Families programme due to the mandatory precise location requirement. • No Persistent Identifiers: The App does not collect or transmit Android Advertising IDs (AAID / AD_ID), SIM serials, build serials, BSSID, MAC addresses, SSID, IMEI, or device phone numbers. • No Advertising SDKs: The App does not display advertisements, does not contain third-party ad SDKs, and never conducts interest-based advertising or remarketing. If a parent or legal guardian discovers that their child has contacted us or provided personal data through customer support channels, please email privacy@shinraiops.com and we will immediately purge all corresponding records within 24 hours.
